Getting an iPhone with Verizon?

So January of last year, verizon notified me of my upgrade, and I upgraded to a droid X. I've had nothing but trouble with this phone, and I'd like to switch to an iPhone 4, however, they're outrageous without an upgrade, and I cannot see myself spending that much money on a phone. Is there anyway I can add a line to the plan, and then leave my current line only costing a small amount on the monthly bill? Or is there any other option I can take?

    You can add another line for only $10 a month and get the Iphone for the new 2 year agreement price, thats what i did because i only had 5 more months left and i wanted the new iphone.
