CHeaper State to Register Car , New York or California?

My husband and I will be owners of a 2012 Ford Edge in February . We will be stationed (AIRFORCE) in Beale California . We both have NY state drivers license, however since we will be stationed in California, we have the option as to where to register our new car. My question is , where is it cheaper ?? Thank you ahead of time.

    California is cheaper for the reason it has alot more cars and does not rely on mass transit as much as New York

    California. Call your auto insurance company and ask. I bet you have USAA.
