What attracts earwigs to enter the home?

Recently I just seen some earwigs creep up at night in my home yuck but seriously where are they coming from and how to get rid of them? If they are outside creatures what makes them want to come into a house?

  • Usually moisture and simply having them come in through an opening. They hide in brooms sometimes if you leave them in the basement or in the garage where it's humid. But if you have a carpet outside your front door for example, they will be underneath and sometimes one may come in your home when you open your door... The best product you can use is Raid and it's a red bottle (here in Canada anyways) originally made to repel spiders for 2wks at a time. You spray it around your doors, windows, garage door and any kind of opening like that and it works awesome!!! (if you read the label you'll see all the bugs it's good for including earwigs.).

    Goodluck!

  • Crumbs and anything damp. MY husband has a habit of dumping his shower towel in front of the washing machine instead of the basket. 4 days in a row earwigs have crawled out from nowhere. I went mad! My home is spotless and super clean, cleaning is my hobby!! ALL damp will attract earwigs they love it. If you know where they are coming from you need to seal it up, and put insect powder down. Earwigs attract cockroaches. No way!!!

  • Singapore has a lively history and varied ethnic quarters to discover, along with the many family-friendly attractions and beautiful public spaces which make visiting this somewhat innovative city useful so begin planning your vacation, begin with Hotelbye . In Singapore you can go to the world's biggest huge remark wheel, the Singapore Flyer. Still another beautiful place you are able to visit in Singapore is the Bay East Garden. Bay East Garden is an ideal area for enjoying the vivid plants and escaping the city bustle for a moment but, in the same measure, you are able to enjoy the Cloud Forest Dome to see the world's highest indoor waterfall and understand a bit about biodiversity.

  • Moisture attracts the earwigs. Getting rid of the moisture will get rid of them.

  • I have also had this problem and from my research on them i found they are attracted

to damp so i searched for damp in my house and found that i had damp in my bedroom. I have since sorted the damp and have found no more earwigs.
